Why Maths? Why not?!Studying Maths has never been as important as it is today. It is the foundation of all the sciences and anyone aiming to study a scientific subject at university should consider it. It is also one of the most sought after subjects by employers in any field. But most importantly, it is interesting, challenging and fun!
I teach at Thomas Tallis school and I am part of an enthusiastic teaching team has an excellent record of success over many years in preparing students to succeed at Maths and Further Maths A-level. We aim to provide a rich and varied mathematical experience both inside and outside the classroom, exposing students to the uses of Maths in the real world through enrichment events, trips and visits to companies. We know Maths is a challenging subject. If you are finding it difficult, you can attend one of our many additional support sessions, or you can always just come and ask our experienced team of teachers who are always willing to help. If you are a high-flier, we have an established Further Maths course with an excellent record of success, and you may also be eligible to join our Leading Learner scheme and work with students across the school. For those of you who just missed your 4 at GCSE we also offer a re-take course. Visit The Tallis Post 16 website for more information about our subject area and the rest of the school.
